Amish Country to host 5th annual Ohio Hardwood Furniture Market Feb. 29 – March 1

Walnut Creek, Ohio — For the fifth consecutive year Holmes County will host the Ohio Hardwood Furniture Market; this year scheduled for Feb. 29 through March 1 at the former Holmes County Expo Center in Walnut Creek. Nearly 100 exhibitors are expected, including furniture builders from Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

The market, with an attendance of more than 1,100 buyers from throughout the United States and Canada, has become a mainstay for Midwest furniture retailers and is one of the largest U.S. furniture shows exclusively featuring domestically manufactured hardwood furniture.

With interior color trends showing a nationwide shift, new finish and stain colors are expected to highlight this year’s market. Most exhibitors also will feature new furniture designs and collections.

A preview of the market is open to the local general public from 4 – 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28. Although retail sales are not available, business owners and interested individuals will be able to see the latest in furniture designs during the preview. No RSVPs are necessary for Preview Night.

The Ohio Hardwood Furniture Market itself is open only to wholesale buyers, who may register online at www.ohiohardwoodfurnituremarket.com. Registration is free.

The market will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Feb. 29 and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on March 1.

The Hardwood Furniture Guild, host of the Ohio Hardwood Furniture Market, is comprised mostly of furniture manufacturers in Northeast/Central Ohio. This group, the nation’s largest concentration of hardwood furniture manufacturers and retailers, seeks to promote and market domestically manufactured home furnishings of unparalleled value and quality, while providing their customers with superior service.

The guild is a nonprofit organization within the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce.
