The Tastes of Holmes County
People travel from across the world to buy the locally produced food, some of which is only available here. From cheese to chocolate to chicken to bologna, Holmes County has a flavor that you cannot find anywhere else.
Where: Guggisberg Cheese near Charm invented Baby Swiss. Heini’s Cheese Chalet, where Yogurt Cheese was invented, is in Berlin. Alpine Cheese Company in Winesburg is the only US producers of Jarlsberg Cheese. Coblentz Chocolate Company is located in Walnut Creek. Troyer’s Trail Bologna is in Trail. The Amish Door in Wilmot was recognized by USA Today in 2006 for their broasted chicken meal as one of the 25 best meals in the nation.
